Ascent MKE stands as a remarkable architectural feat in Milwaukee, currently holding the title of the world’s tallest timber tower. Challenge

The primary challenge in the Ascent MKE project stemmed from its innovative use of timber in high-rise construction, a material less conventional than steel or concrete in such applications. This required meticulous electrical planning and installation to prevent potential hazards and ensure compatibility with the wood-based structure. Furthermore, the complex design and layout of the building demanded precise coordination among various construction teams to integrate electrical systems without disrupting the architectural integrity.

Solution

To navigate the complexities of Ascent MKE, Roman Electric employed advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques, which allowed for detailed 3D modeling of the electrical installations before actual construction commenced. This approach enabled the team to identify potential issues and rectify them in the virtual model, thereby reducing on-site errors and ensuring a smooth integration of electrical systems.
